Description
Smoke from California wildfires travelled across the Atlantic, reaching the Kent coast. A friend in California sent me a map of the particles in the atmosphere, with the most concentrated area being above me in the south of the UK. It explained what I was seeing – and suddenly, the vivid sky became a signal, not a spectacle.
