Precision – Snorkelling with diving gannets

This moment highlighted the incredible accuracy of a gannet as it dived at a shallow depth directly towards me. The bird’s eyes were intensely focused, locked on a fish that hovered right beside my head. Despite the proximity, the gannet’s precision ensures that its bill remains on target for the fish, demonstrating the remarkable control and skill inherent to these seabirds. As it captures its prey, the gannet opens its wings, beginning its ascent to the surface, enveloping me in the dramatic beauty of the moment. Capturing the delicate balance of power and precision in the natural world, a dance of survival where every movement is both calculated and instinctive.
