The moons & the shimmer fish – Celestial seas at Walpole Bay

Blending the art of patience and precision in underwater photography. The challenge was not just the wait but also the need for stillness; any sudden movement could spook the fish and disrupt the shot. As I waited, poised and ready, the fish finally appeared, gliding elegantly past two jellyfish, their bodies shimmering in the filtered sunlight, creating a dance of light and shadow beneath the surface. I knew the shoal stretched about 10 meters long, giving me a brief window to capture the scene. As the peak of the shoal approached, I took my shots, and from this careful orchestration, this particular image was born—a snapshot where timing, light, and life converged into a single, magical moment.
