One of the first drone flights I ever did was over Walpole Bay on a really sunny day, and I just loved the tone of the sea that day because it was quite clear but because of the chalk reef there, there was still, different colours coming through the water and an opaqueness to it because of the, the kind of chalky rub from the chalk and the sediment mixing in with that water, and then how different the water looks within the tidal pool where it is held and contained. And it’s a lot deeper. Therefore, the green of the tidal pool is a lot more vivid.

And it was just lucky that there was someone swimming there just to add that context of size and space, and I think I was shooting this one up there at 120 metres altitude so it just gives a real sense of how far removed you can be from this looking down as a bird’s eye view but still, yet I feel very connected with what is happening there and I look at that and it just makes me want to get into the water straight away. I love sea swimming so much. And, just. Yeah, freedom in that amazing feeling of when you just go out into the tidal pool, you’re in your, your stride and away you go.

And, really enjoying those moments. And so it was just one of those moments, I think, when I had first taken to the sky and really started to get into exploring shapes and lines and organic patterns and how man and nature meet in those seascape spaces.
